About Best of Denton County

Best of Denton County was first started in 2004, and for two decades, it has been shining a spotlight on local businesses that truly go above and beyond. From exceptional customer service to a commitment to our community, professionalism, and good old Southern charm, these businesses have it all.

What sets the Best of Denton County apart from other “BEST OF” publications is that it’s not just a popularity contest. It’s not about the publication picking its top three advertisers and letting readers vote. Oh no, OUR accolade is much more special than that. It’s the residents who get to nominate their favorite local businesses through online voting over a month-long period. Then, the top three businesses in each category with the most nominations make it onto the ballot for voting. Finally, the community gets to choose their favorite. It’s an intense competition with so many outstanding businesses to choose from, but that’s what makes this award so prestigious, coveted, and respected in our county.  

And here’s what makes this even better – to ensure that there’s no fraudulent voting, each vote is counted only once per email address and IP address. This means that the Best of Denton County is a true representation of what our community values and loves. It’s not just about who has the most friends or who can rally the most people to vote for them. It’s about the businesses that truly make a difference in our lives and our community.
